Biodiversity Boost Coming to Rackleaze Nature Area!
Building on the success of previous community events at Rackleaze Nature Area—from bat walks and bird box building to bug hunts and beyond—Cam Parish Council is thrilled to announce the next exciting step in protecting and improving this much-loved local green space.
Thanks to external funding, a professional ecologist will carry out a site-wide biodiversity audit in June 2025. This in-depth study will explore the plants, animals, and habitats that make Rackleaze special—and form the foundation for a comprehensive management plan aimed at enhancing the area for both wildlife and people.
This project is all about giving back to nature while strengthening community connection. Whether you’re a dog walker, a young explorer, a birdwatcher, or someone who simply enjoys peaceful time outdoors, this work will ensure Rackleaze continues to thrive as a space for everyone to enjoy.
Stay tuned for updates as the audit gets underway, and keep an eye out for future opportunities to get involved in shaping the next chapter for Rackleaze!
