Cam Parish Council are delighted to share that improvement works at Jubilee Playing Field are now complete — making the area safer, more accessible, and even more enjoyable for everyone.
Thanks to these works, the second car park has been cleared and resurfaced with a new, environmentally friendly permeable material. This will make parking easier and help protect the area in all weather conditions.
We’ve also upgraded the access road from the playing field and added a new passing point to make it safer and smoother for vehicles to come and go.
These changes were made in response to feedback from local residents about limited parking and congestion in nearby streets. Alongside this, new drainage and underground trunking have been installed to prepare the site for any future improvements — helping ensure Jubilee Playing Field continues to grow with our community’s needs.
This project was made possible by a £20,000 grant from Stroud District Council’s Rural England Prosperity Fund, following a successful bid by Cam Parish Council.
It’s part of our wider investment in Cam’s green spaces and recreation areas — including our recent £100,000 commitment to securing the future of Cam Sports Club. Together, these projects show our continued dedication to making Cam’s parks and facilities safe, accessible, and welcoming for everyone.
We’d like to say a big thank you to all residents and visitors for your patience and support while the work was carried out. We hope you enjoy the improvements!
