Hundreds of people turned out for an afternoon of festive fun at the biggest Christmas light switch-on event ever organised in Cam. A young carer from Gloucestershire Young Carers officially switched on the lights.
This year’s Christmas festive party included mini reindeer rides, Father Christmas in his grotto, live music, a fun fair and craft and activity stalls.
The fantastic event finished in spectacular style with a laser show which lit up the High Street. The pet-friendly extravaganza lasted 10-minutes and delighted the crowds with colourful lights shooting across the night sky.
Cllr Jerry Fowler, Chair of Cam Parish Council, said the largest turn-out of people ever had enjoyed the event.
“It was brilliant to see so many people of all ages enjoying the afternoon! There was plenty of community spirit and energy! We were very excited by the laser show, which is an eco-friendly and pet-friendly alternative to fireworks.”
