Improvement Works at Jubilee Playing Field
Cam Parish Council is carrying out improvement works at Jubilee Playing Field to ease parking pressures and enhance access to the site.
The project will see the second car park, currently opened only on football match days, cleared and resurfaced. The access road from the playing field will also be upgraded and will feature a dedicated passing point for vehicles to improve traffic flow.
These improvements follow feedback from residents about limited on-site parking and resulting congestion in nearby streets. As part of its continued investment in local green spaces, the council aims to enhance safety, accessibility, and the overall visitor experience at the 16-acre site.
The scheme also includes new drainage infrastructure and service trunking to support potential future developments.
Funding of £20,000 has been awarded by Stroud District Council through the Rural England Prosperity Fund, following a successful bid by Cam Parish Council.
Work is due to begin on Monday 20 October 2025 and is expected to take 14 days to complete. During this period, the public footpath (CCA21) running from the Jubilee Pavilion car park to the second car park entrance will be closed for safety reasons.
