Planning Appeal Update

Land West of the A4135, Cam at Draycott

 

The Planning Inspector has approved the plans for up to 795 new homes on the land west of the A4135 at Draycott.
  • 226 homes have full permission now in phase 1
  • The remaining homes are approved in outline for later phases
  • There will be a new road entrance from the A4135, plus green spaces, paths and drainage
  • A piece of land is being kept for a possible new primary school depending on whether Gloucestershire County Council take it forward 

The appeal was allowed because Stroud District Council does not currently have enough housing sites and the location next to Cam is considered sustainable.


Other points:
  • New footpaths and cycle links will be created
  • Environmental protections for wildlife and water have been agreed
  • Four plots will need to be redesigned, as residents and Parish Council opposed the planned three-storey houses

CiL Project Proposal Form
This must be as shown on your governing document. Your governing document could be called one of several things, depending on the type of organisation you’re applying on behalf of. It might be called a constitution, trust deed, memorandum and articles of association, or something else entirely. You might find it on a registration website - for example, Companies House or a Charities Register.

This is the cost of everything related to your project, even things you’re not asking us to fund. For example: If you’re asking us for £100,000 and you’re getting £20,000 from another funder to cover additional costs, your total project cost is £120,000. If you’re asking us for £60,000 and there are no other costs, your total project cost is £60,000. We do not need to know where the rest of your funding’s coming from right now.
